You can also enable or disable iCloud in Strongbox under Preferences (Gear icon). You must be signed in to iCloud on your iOS Device. ICloud can sometimes be disabled or unavailable on iOS. You must add them manually by going to:įile > Open > Select 'Strongbox' under iCloud in the side bar > Select your database file.

Unfortunately at the moment Strongbox on Mac does not automatically add or detect your databases in the Strongbox iCloud Folder. If you don’t see it you can create it by adding a new iCloud database via Strongbox. The folder should be in the root of your iCloud Drive with the Strongbox icon on it. This is a dedicated folder and Strongbox will automatically detect and sync anything here. Using the official Strongbox iCloud folder This is because sometimes iOS Files references can become stale and need to be re-added every now and then. The recommended way is to use the official iCloud Strongbox folder. As a subscriber to Apple One, you also get extra iCloud storage bundled with other Apple services, such as Apple Music, Apple TV+, Fitness+, and more.

So, I chose to sync my Downloads folder by storing it in Documents folder because had I put it in iCloud-synced Desktop folder, the Downloads folder would be visible on my Desktop. you cannot select yet additional folders you want to be synced to iCloud. You have to understand that as of September 24, 2017, iCloud only allows Desktop and Documents folder to stored on iCloud. You will probably have to drag the new Downloads link (or folder) in Finder to the Favourites section/left menu if you want it to display there once more. In terminal (or iTerm2 if you want a more customisable terminal): Rather than add the original Downloads folder into iCloud, I've relied on the standard 'Documents and Desktop' sync option provided by Apple in iCloud without messing around in the background where those files are accessible ( ~/Library/Mobile\ Documents/com~apple~CloudDocs/) as I'm not confident that adding links in there is a good idea long term. Similar answer to one of the others, but in this case I've used a symbolic link to do this rather than use the GUI to create an apple 'Alias', just to be sure it works in all cases.
